Court approves down payments for detention-center shelving and AV upgrades

County staff presented two procurement items for the adult detention center and the court approved both on Nov. 5. Robert Hernandez explained the facility uses large bay file cabinets that aren’t holding the inmate folders and that the county is seeking a permanent shelving/storage system; staff requested a down payment to Office Source LTD so the vendor can purchase and deliver the equipment.
On a separate item, staff requested a 50% down payment to San Antonio Sound and Light to purchase AV materials for the detention training room. The judge noted a number of advance payments on the agenda and said staff had followed procurement processes; both down payments were approved by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
