Dolan Ward told the board the solid-waste fee on his property was wrongly assessed as commercial because his parcel is zoned "ag medium," not commercial. Chief Deputy Assessor Bair explained that zoning is used to determine property-tax assessment while the solid-waste charge is a separate fee billed based on property use.
Commissioner Koyle moved to remove the commercial solid-waste fee for property RP09S24E038551 and credit $550.00; Commissioner Schaeffer seconded and the minutes note the motion carried. Commissioner Koyle also agreed to serve on a committee to review the solid-waste fee structure going forward.
