Minidoka County approves internet drop, panic-button system and cameras for county offices

The Minidoka County Commission on Feb. 9 approved multiple IT and security purchases aimed at strengthening communications and staff safety. IT Computer Support Specialist Bingham presented quotes from Project Mutual Telephone and M2 Automation; the board approved a PMT internet drop for the Minidoka County Sheriffs Department dark room at $144.95 per month, to be paid from the E911 budget until those funds are exhausted. The motion to approve the PMT quote was moved by Commissioner Schaeffer and seconded by Commissioner Koyle and carried.
The board also authorized a panic-button receiver and labor to install it in the prosecuting attorneys office for $5,270.77, with support declined, to be paid from fund 08-14 (justice fund). Commissioners approved purchasing cameras for the sheriffs department dark room and the courthouse server room for $5,105.55, to be split between funds 08-14 and 01-14 (justice and current expense); the Assessors office camera purchase was tabled. Specialist Bingham said Project Mutual Telephone will inspect cables at the Veterans office and provide pricing before any work begins. No vote tallies were recorded beyond the meeting note that each motion —motion carried.—
