Board told driveway work pushed Bonillas over impervious coverage limit; engineer recommends stormwater controls
Summary
At the June 25 meeting the Lindenwold board heard that a 47-foot driveway previously approved was later extended with more concrete, causing the Bonilla property to exceed the borough's impervious coverage limit; Board Engineer Jeff Hanson recommended stormwater management controls and said removal of concrete would be the alternative to comply.

During consideration of JLUB-26-9 (Alvaro and Francisca Bonilla, 229 E Maple Ave, Block 114, Lot 3) Board Engineer Jeff Hanson told the Lindenwold Joint Land Use Board he had approved a 47-foot driveway but the applicant later added additional concrete that resulted in the property exceeding permitted impervious coverage. Hanson, who said he is currently acting as the borough’s zoning officer, said the applicant was cited and advised to seek a bulk variance. Hanson recommended the installation of stormwater management controls to address runoff and impervious coverage concerns.
When Mayor Richard Roach asked whether there were other alternatives, the borough engineer responded that the property owner would need to remove concrete in order to get back under the impervious coverage limit. The board opened the public portion for JLUB-26-9; no members of the public stepped forward. The solicitor and chair then moved administrative motions to deem the application complete and to accept all application forms as record; both motions passed by roll call. The meeting was subsequently closed to the public and adjourned.
