At the April 22 meeting the board approved several public-safety items. Commissioners voted to accept the lowest of five quotes for Poplar fire engine repair from ABC Automotive; the vendor will tow the engine and begin work immediately, and a replacement engine will take about a week to arrive.
The board also approved Option B for new cameras in the Sheriff Department evidence building; minutes note the Option B cameras are higher-definition than Option A and "can be used for facial recognition." Commissioners approved the DUI Task Force FY25-26 budget as presented. "A motion was made by Commissioner Toavs to approve the quote from ABC Automotive in Poplar, seconded by Commissioner Marottek... Passed," the minutes say.
