Sexton reports recent lot sales and burial activity at Pleasant View Cemetery

Cemetery Sexton Doug Sheehan updated the board on May 27 about interment activity and lot sales at Pleasant View Cemetery. Since submitting his written report, he said he had sold 16 more lots, bringing the total (as noted by staff) to 23 lots sold; he also reported two cremation burials and one full burial since the last meeting.
Sheehan told the commission that one set of remains had been removed from the tomb and reburied in New Hampshire, and another removal was scheduled to be reburied in Plymouth by the end of the month. He said eight families are deciding on dates for cremation burials, payment was made on two large foundations, and 12 families are considering buying lots. He also noted he has been working on possible changes to cemetery rules and regulations.
The board did not take a formal vote on operational items during the report, but members discussed staffing and maintenance. Penny Wu said fixed costs such as insurance are unpredictable and that purchases have been cut off for departments for the rest of the fiscal year to control spending.
