County staff used the Feb. 17, 2026 workshop to hear informational presentations from constitutional officers and local agencies about their funding requests for FY2026–2027. The record lists requests from the Treasurer's Office; Commissioner of the Revenue; Clerk of Circuit Court; Commonwealth's Attorney; Sheriff's Office; Department of Social Services; and the Extension Office, followed by presentations from Virginia Legal Aid; Peter Francisco SWCD; Piedmont Veterans Council; and Longwood Small Business.
Board members were given an opportunity to ask questions during the informational presentations. Because a quorum was not present, the session did not include votes or formal budget decisions; staff and presenters were to return with any follow-up details at subsequent workshops. The Board recessed for lunch and planned to resume presentations at 1:00 p.m., when Supervisor Paul Stimpson rejoined the meeting.
