The county treasurer presented a letter asking the Grant County Court to use the Consumer Price Index (CPI) to set the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for fiscal year 2026–27 for the Sheriff's Office, Road Department, Sergeants Union and non-represented employees. The letter asked the court to approve a recommendation to be forwarded to the budget committee for formal consideration.
Judge Hamsher moved to approve moving forward with the recommendation and Commissioner Rowell seconded; the motion carried 3-0. The recommendation will be forwarded to the budget committee for consideration during budget preparation.
