Staff told the committee the International Arts & Crafts Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14, with planned hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. So far about 121 vendors have signed up. Entertainment confirmations include Mexican folk dance, an Indian dance group and Scandinavian music and dance; the children’s area will include puppet players, storytellers and free henna/face painting.
Staff asked committee members to sign up for volunteer shifts to help with morning set‑up, children's crafts, staffing a table and stage management. Volunteers from the community and council members were encouraged to rotate shifts so coverage is available throughout the day. Staff said they will circulate volunteer shift sign‑ups and any specific materials needed for the children’s area.
