Committee flags fake ticket listings as a source of seat disputes

"If you googled, like, just to buy rodeo tickets ... they came up before you get to where you can actually buy tickets. And they're all fake," a committee member said, describing how duplicate or fake listings caused patrons to arrive with legitimate-seeming tickets and find others in their seats.
David Wilkes said the city and ushers tried to accommodate affected patrons when possible, but recommended that people who believe they bought fraudulent tickets contact police and their bank because venue staff have limited remedies. The committee noted that these situations place additional pressure on ushers and staff and emphasized the need for sufficient volunteer staffing to handle disputes.
Ticket sales were described as "softish" but committee members expected a marketing push and banner placement by communications staff to increase sales before the event.
