“Maybe if there was a QR code… they sign it and submit it,” Doug Baudry said while suggesting a phone-based form or an iPad could cut down on line time. David Wilkes agreed staff could investigate vendors who provide electronic waiver solutions before the event.
Members also noted that electronic collection could reduce storage burdens; under the current process David Wilkes said paper waivers are being retained for seven years. The committee requested that staff report back with feasible options prior to the event so volunteers can be trained and signage/QR codes prepared.
