Council approves single-event permit for Christmas Box International gala; no fireworks allowed

Travis (city staff) detailed several conditions: doors to outdoor patios may be propped only during check-in and must be closed after 7:30 p.m.; no outdoor speaker playback; parking on Microwave Drive prohibited; and occupancy must meet fire-code limits. Tammy Corrigan, the event's manager, told the council, "We will not be having any fireworks at this event at all," and confirmed she had no objection to the proposed conditions. Council added an explicit prohibition on fireworks (including sparklers) and approved local consent unanimously, 4–0.
The permit includes conditions intended to reduce sound spill and neighborhood impacts; staff said they will return to the council if follow-up is needed.
