Sady Mounts, Hot Springs County Emergency Management/Homeland Security Coordinator, requested and the Board approved an SHSP Grant Award Agreement with the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security for $12,300 (no county match) to purchase Emergency Operations Center equipment. Mounts referenced response difficulties during the 2025 Red Canyon fire and said the equipment will support using the Search and Rescue building by the fire hall as a local emergency command center.
Mounts introduced the county's new Emergency Management Coordinator, Christal Eversole, and said Eversole's office will be located in the Search and Rescue building. Commissioner Paul Galovich moved for approval of the grant agreement; Commissioner Tom Ryan seconded and the motion carried.
