Ryan Silvestri presented preliminary results from the 2026 statistical reappraisal: hearings processed roughly 600 parcels with an anticipated 60 formal grievances (about 3%). He said losses totaling $15,783,600 were offset by values added for Okemo and Jackson Gore, and the overall average percentage changed from 62% to 59.8%. The 2025 Grand List was reported at $1,644,153,967 and the 2026 Abstract Grand List at $2,627,036,567 (figures discussed in meeting); Silvestri said the abstract will be filed by May 15 and the formal abstract by June 10, and that updated property valuations will be mailed the week of May 18.
Board members asked about implications for the tax rate; Silvestri said if the grand list rises the tax rate falls and vice versa, and reminded the board that the State sets utility values. He noted the State now requires reappraisals on a six-year cycle and said he will be conservative when reappraising comparable resort properties. No formal action was taken; the item provided an informational update and a schedule for mailing new values.
