DRB approves screening plan for platform tennis court at 11 Grouse Lane

At the Feb. 9 meeting the Development Review Board reviewed a screening plan for a previously approved platform tennis court at 11 Grouse Lane in the Mountain Recreation District and took testimony from the applicant’s agent, Ted Reeves.
Erin Ladd, town staff, confirmed the application (094-95-PUD amendment, 352-12-ACT250 amendment) had been posted and abutters notified. Reeves said the plan calls for eight trees — a mix of red pine, red spruce and balsam — planted at 6 to 8 feet tall to provide immediate screening and increase coverage as they mature. Board members asked about slope, species survivability under a mature canopy and whether failed plantings would be replaced; Reeves said replacement could be a condition of permit approval. After questions about the plan and a review of exhibit materials, the board voted unanimously to close the hearing.
