Wu said going forward the Cemetery budget will include an overtime line, aligning the department with other town budgets. Bruce Schmidt said he supported managing the cemetery consistent with other departments. The plan also notes that employees generally will not work when it rains unless preparing for a funeral, and the municipal manager may stagger work days to cover weekend funerals at his discretion.
The plan was discussed and accepted as the operating approach for the remainder of FY26; staff will implement scheduling and report any operational impacts to the board at the next meeting.
