The Select Board approved a staff recommendation to raise the town's single-credit-card monthly cap from $5,000 to $10,000 to accommodate simultaneous departmental purchases. Municipal Manager Penny Wu said the current $5,000 cap can be reached quickly when several departments place orders and that the higher cap would prevent payment obstacles for time-sensitive purchases such as dam work.
Board members discussed whether $10,000 would sufficiently address the issue; George Tucker, Jr. and Penny Wu noted it should. The motion to approve the increase passed unanimously. The board did not specify a sunset date for the higher cap during the meeting.
