Superintendent reports athletic wins, instructional award and large meal distribution after winter weather

Superintendent Missy Shores reported several items to the Board on Feb. 10: athletic successes (boys’ basketball in first place in district and region; girls’ team second in district), an elementary school VaTLL instructional leadership award presented Feb. 6 in Richmond, and the district’s distribution of "over 3,200 meals" to students during a winter weather event.
Shores also noted plans for community engagement events, the Division Spelling Bee scheduled for Feb. 19 at the elementary school, and a public hearing on the proposed school budget that same day. She encouraged residents to attend the Feb. 19 budget hearing and noted the next School Board meeting would occur on Feb. 16.
