Finance Officer Anita Radcliffe presented Wimco's invoice for $2,279,062.49 and explained the state grant is covering $1,840,798 of that invoice while the county’s share, $438,263.72, would draw from the county's previously set‑aside $10 million funding for the project. Radcliffe told commissioners the school project is now roughly "70% complete" and that there have been no change orders on the current reimbursement request.
Later, Radcliffe also presented a request from the local school board to draw $31,417.66 of restricted lottery funds to purchase and install an intercom speaker system at John Small Elementary School. The Board briefly debated procedure — a motion to table was raised during discussion — but ultimately Vice‑Chairman Langley moved to approve drawing down the funds and the motion carried. Commissioners asked the schools for clarification on why the new intercom is needed; Radcliffe said the request came from the school board and that the funds are restricted for school capital maintenance.
