County economic development staff reported that several large projects for the previously planned mega‑site were posted for public bid on April 1 and that bid documents are available on the county website and state procurement pages. Project manager West Overman told the Board a mandatory pre‑bid conference is scheduled for April 14 via Microsoft Teams and that proposals are due April 30, to be opened and read aloud per procurement rules. Overman said as of the evening of the meeting six contractors were already registered for the pre‑bid conference.
Overman also reminded residents of an upcoming household hazardous waste collection on April 25 at the community college from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and asked commissioners to help publicize the event. Commissioners noted outreach to historically underutilized businesses and that engineering consultant Garrett‑Moore would facilitate the pre‑bid meeting and questions.
