Houston County raises onsite sewage and well fees effective Dec. 19

Environmental Health Director Christine Buffington told the board the county must raise onsite sewage system and well-program fees to keep pace with current administrative costs; she noted the last fee increase occurred in 2009. The commissioners unanimously approved the fee schedule change, effective Dec. 19, 2024.
Commissioner Robinson presented the request and Commissioner Talton seconded the motion; the board approved it unanimously. Staff will implement the new fee schedule and notify affected applicants and contractors of the Dec. 19 effective date.
