"Our goal is to take and actually create an ordinance for the rules of the board of adjustment," staff said, adding the intent is largely format conversion rather than substantive change.
Board members requested a clearer redline showing changes, asked staff to remove obsolete references to site visits, and pushed back on two proposed items: the time limit for presentation of evidence (staff proposed five minutes; one member said that could be too limiting for due process) and a three-year bar on re-filing an application ("I feel like 3 years is a really long time," one member said). Staff agreed to streamline the document and return it to the BOA for review before it goes to the Community Development Committee.
