Registration strong for youth baseball/softball; ARPA funds to buy two AEDs for Dorsey Park

Nick Miele reported that registration for Ludlow Youth Baseball and Softball opened in early March and that 81 athletes have enrolled so far, with coaches for every age group and practices underway. He thanked local sponsors including Diamond Realty and the Ludlow Side Hill Cronchers for supporting teams, and said Opening Day is scheduled for May 9. “I would also like to thank Diamond Realty and the Ludlow Side Hill Cronchers for supporting our teams,” Miele said.
On safety equipment, Miele reported the committee will use ARPA funds to purchase two automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for Dorsey Park—one permanently mounted in a box and a second portable unit for games and events. Howard Paul asked whether a portable AED is kept in the building and Miele said there is one in the community center but it is not recommended to remove it from the box during events; staff will confirm deployment plans for the new units.
