Director proposes moving weight room to larger Community Center space to boost membership

Nick Miele proposed moving the community center weight room into the larger 'red room' to accommodate more equipment and members. He said the current space is small and moving equipment to the larger room would likely increase participation. “A new treadmill is 4K to 8K and people really want them,” Nick said while discussing equipment needs.
Penny Wu and Kevin reviewed the feasibility of the space, noting Kevin is looking at electrical upgrades, adding a bathroom and closing doors to make a standalone, ADA-compliant room. Committee members raised questions about sufficient outlets, door access (key or punch codes) and staffing for extended hours. Scott requested a progress report at the next meeting to ensure the project moves forward; Penny agreed and Frank voiced support for proceeding.
