Parks and Recreation Director Nick Miele told the March 10 committee meeting that registration is open for youth baseball and softball and that Ludlow will combine teams this year with Cavendish Recreation to ensure adequately sized rosters. The department will review equipment in the coming weeks and thanked several new sponsors supporting teams.
Miele said Opening Day is tentatively planned for May 9 to avoid conflicts with other events. Sponsors named in the director's report included Ludlow Side Hill Cronchers, Diamond Realty, Green Mountain Sign and Graphics, and Diamond Property Management. Committee members did not take a formal vote on program structure at the meeting but will continue planning and equipment checks ahead of the season.
