The Taos County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on Nov. 13 to approve the county canvass of the 2024 general election after County Clerk Valerie Raelle Montoya presented the county summary of results.
"Good morning, commissioners. Thank you for setting this special meeting so I can present the 2024 general election results canvas," Montoya said before reading totals for federal, state and local contests, judicial retention questions, constitutional amendments and bond questions. After the reading, she asked the board to approve the canvass.
During a brief exchange following the presentation, commissioners praised the clerk's office for its work compiling ballots and answering procedural questions. The board then took a roll-call vote and approved the canvass; the clerk recorded unanimous "yes" votes. The chair then moved on to a two-item consent agenda. The public comment period produced no speakers.
