Administrator: DMV Select site coming to county with September target opening

The county administrator gave an update on preparations for a new DMV Select location. Staff have received over 100 applications for the positions, and training is scheduled for the last two weeks of August. Counters and IT work are in place and a secure prefab is being constructed; delivery is expected in the second week of August.
"We're hoping it should be somewhere like in the 2nd week of August," the administrator said about delivery, and added the target to open to the public is in September. The administrator said the site will be air conditioned and fully ADA accessible and that county staff consider the DMV Select an upgrade from the prior location even though the county is not eligible for full DMV services.
The board acknowledged the update and expressed support for the effort to bring more services to the county.
