Supervisors approve naming Planning & Community Development Department as clerk backup during director's leave

County staff told supervisors that Planning Director Josh Hahn will be on a two-week vacation and that current code language names a specific person as clerk to the Planning Commission. Staff asked the board to allow the Planning & Community Development Department to be named so the department can provide coverage when the director is absent.
"So if you name the department, it can be anyone in there, but we're asking only Josh and Tracy would have the authority to do that," the presenter said. A supervisor moved to add the Page County Planning & Community Development Department as the clerk to the Planning Commission as defined in the relevant subdivision of Chapter 100. The board approved the change.
The change is intended to ensure continuous coverage for planning commission clerical duties while the director is on leave; the motion indicates the department, not a specific individual, will be the official designee in code language.
