Penny Wu, staff member, told the board the labor line was budgeted at $85,000 for three people and that FY2026 year-to-date labor was $56,900 against a $56,650 annual budget, prompting the board to seek tighter controls.
Commissioners discussed schedule changes, overtime accounting and cross-department staffing as ways to meet the lower labor figure. Scott Baitz moved to set the labor line at $65,000 for FY2027, and the motion passed unanimously. The board also approved the FY2027 budget as presented with the changes adopted at the meeting.
