Municipal Manager Penny Wu told the commission that aged receivables have improved: balances more than 120 days past due dropped from roughly $11,900 to $9,600 in January. She said several accounts over 120 days are on payment plans, though some have not made payments for more than three months.
Wu said larger outstanding balances are being managed with plans to wait for warmer weather for certain collection actions and that staff expect to pursue additional follow-up on high-balance accounts.
