Summary
Officials said a grant for a new Dorsey Park playground requires a railroad easement the village has been unable to locate; staff will request an easement and check whether any annual fee would jeopardize grant eligibility.

Town staff told trustees that a grant for a new playground at Dorsey Park is contingent on securing a railroad easement.
Penny Wu said the grant requires an easement from the railroad and that Cherry Nicoll is helping to resolve logistics. "We need to have the easement before we receive the grant. We can’t locate an easement into Dorsey," Wu said. Diane Knight and Trustee Julie Nicoll described efforts checking records and contacting State personnel; Wu said requesting an easement may carry an annual fee and staff will investigate whether the fee would jeopardize the grant.
The board asked staff to continue working the easement question before accepting grant funds; the item will return to a future agenda.
