Trustees roll $42,000 in FY26 retreatment funds into FY27 budget

Trustees voted unanimously to encumber $42,000 in unspent FY2026 retreatment funds for use in the FY2027 budget.
Municipal staff member Penny Wu explained the request: "They are asking board approval to roll the FY2026 Retreatment funds over to the FY27 budget. The amount is $42,000. If approved, we may be able to do some decent retreatment next year." Highway Department official Ron Tarbell said the town typically funds retreatment annually and seeks grants to supplement local funds; he characterized FY26 spending on retreatment as minimal.
Trustee Justin Hyjek said the encumbrance was rare but justified. The motion to encumber the funds passed unanimously.
