The Board of Trustees voted unanimously May 5 to join Ludlow Electric in a cost-share to install a Level 2 dual electric vehicle charging station at the Ludlow Electric office site. Municipal staff said the project is supported by a $26,000 grant and that Ludlow Electric approved the contribution from its commissioners.
Penny Wu explained the financial share: "Ludlow Electric will pay $2,600 and the Town’s match will be $1,600. We will pay $500 annually," and staff told trustees the $500 annual amount is expected to decline over time. Trustee Justin Hyjek asked whether the unit would be a fast charger; Penny Wu said it will be a Level 2. The motion to approve the installation and cost-sharing passed unanimously.
