Rollins reviewed the county’s capital-improvement program requests, saying the total CIP request is roughly $10.28 million and that $1.4 million would be funded via a 3¢ set-aside on the tax rate and a small use of the revenue stabilization fund to balance the package.
Specific projects called out included repairs to the certifier station, a refrigerated food truck to transport hot meals to seniors (Rollins said funding for one unit was recommended at about $77,000), and courthouse vault and window upgrades with an estimated vault upgrade cost shown as $114,000. Rollins also described a request to develop a water and sewer master plan for the 460 corridor and a sub-regional plan with nearby localities.
Staff recommended a one-year approach to CIP planning this cycle, saying fiscal commitments for later years are shown only where contractually obligated and that the board should focus next-year discussions on priority projects.
