Supervisors approve liquor license, wellness incentives and claims; review election expenses and MMP updates

On Nov. 25 the Van Buren County Board of Supervisors approved routine business items including a 12-month Class B Retail Alcohol License for Boyd Grocery, Inc., and an additional wellness incentive payment for 31 employees who completed an annual physical and online health assessment in 2024. The liquor license motion was made by Chairman Dale House and seconded by Supervisor Meek; the wellness incentive motion was made by Supervisor Meek and seconded by Supervisor Richards. Both motions carried with Ayes: 3.
The board also approved claims #2738–#2829 (Secondary Roads #30468–30495) and administered oaths of office to township trustees across multiple townships. Members reviewed 2024 General Election expenses and planned to invoice Fairfield Community School District and Van Buren Community School District for reimbursement. The board acknowledged two manure management plan updates: John Conaway (Gooden Finishers, Facility #58124) and Ray Zimmerman (Zimmerman Finisher #717, Facility #58333). The meeting adjourned at 10:00 AM.
