Van Buren County accepts recount board report for U.S. House race with no changes

The Van Buren County Board of Supervisors on Nov. 25 accepted the Recount Board's report for the Nov. 22, 2024 recount of the U.S. Representative — Iowa District 1 race and declared that the recount produced no changes to the results previously canvassed on Nov. 13, 2024. County Auditor Lisa Plecker reviewed the Recount Board findings before the board voted to accept the report.
The board recorded precinct-level totals for Election Day, absentee, write-ins, overvotes and undervotes across Central, East, North and Southwest precincts as part of the review. On a motion by Supervisor Richards, seconded by Supervisor Meek, the board accepted the report; the motion carried with Ayes: 3. The board did not change the previously certified results.
