Rink planning resurfaces; committee discusses ACT 250, site and timing

John Murphy said he believes Okemo "owes the town an ice rink" and urged the town to consult its lawyer to accelerate the process. Marissa Selleck said staff members Erin and Penny have been working on the project but that progress has been slow.
Rodger Scully recalled earlier efforts focused on adding a roof over the rink and suggested Dorsey as a potential site. Murphy suggested making a rink a condition of the ACT 250 permit. Director Nick Miele cautioned the town is currently on a spending freeze and that work on the rink is more likely in the next fiscal year; Murphy said he supports continuing the effort.
