Michael Allen of Regrowth Planning told the Town of Manchester Planning Commission that the Town Plan Visioning Survey, launched Jan. 20, has received 185 responses so far. Allen said the survey’s preliminary highest-priority topics among the provided options are “attracting desired local businesses / jobs,” “housing affordability / availability,” and “addressing needs of young families / youth.”
Allen also reported that the Local Workforce and Employer Survey, launched around Feb. 5, has received 78 responses (about 60 from local workers and 18 from local business owners). He said the workforce results will help shape upcoming workshops on economic development and housing. Allen noted distribution channels and response breakdowns, including 79 responses attributed to paid Meta advertising and 57 from handout cards.
The Commission confirmed a visioning workshop set for March 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Taconic Hotel and encouraged attendees to add comments to display boards. Allen said the online comment form has received no new comments since Jan. 22 and staff will continue to collect input at workshops and via display materials.
