Board schedules destruction of 2024 election materials and approves multiple administrative actions
Summary

On motion by House, seconded by Meek, and pursuant to Iowa Code Sections 50.13 and 50.19, the Board scheduled July 15, 2026 for destruction of materials from the 2024 Primary Election and the 2024 Special School Election (excluding tally books and abstracts), to be done in the Van Buren County Magistrate Courtroom.
The Board also authorized the Chairman to sign the County Attorney's FY2026 Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification (NCIC/ORI IA089013A). The Board acknowledged the resignation of Dispatcher/Jailer Jennifer Jeffrey effective June 11, 2026 and appointed Sarah Show of Cantril as a full-time Dispatcher/Jailer effective July 6, 2026 at $25.54 per hour on the Sheriff's recommendation. Additionally, the Board authorized the County Auditor to cancel Check #47595 (June 23, 2025) for $1,500.00 and Check #47762 (June 27, 2025) for $20.08.
