Staff reported a rezoning request for a 0.55‑acre parcel on the north side of the community to match the C‑3 zoning of the parcel to the south and to enable a phase‑2 expansion of a food‑truck lot. Mr. Petrie told commissioners that staff received no calls or emails during the 300‑foot notification period and that the property appears vacant in aerial photos; he said a future site plan will be required before expansion.
The applicant’s representative, Mark Erickson of Everyday Surveying & Engineering, said the owner intends to add two ADA‑compliant bathrooms, a small storage area and potentially a prep kitchen so trucks could stay for longer periods. Erickson noted, “When she acquired this land, the thought is that she's going to put up... two bathrooms ADA compliant with a little, called storage area and potentially a future kitchen.” Commissioners asked about easement and bathroom requirements; staff said current practice for food‑truck sites often uses porta‑potties and that Wisconsin health rules limit parking durations for trucks. A motion to approve the rezoning recommendation passed by a 7-0 roll‑call vote; the item will be forwarded to City Council on Sept. 22.
