The county manager reported to the commission that staff had received notice of a federal funding pause affecting multiple programs and that at least one emergency-management position (critical during fire season) could be impacted. He said the county has some general-fund money available for that position and staff will evaluate which grants and positions are affected and meet with finance staff later in the day.
Commissioners asked for clarification about other programs that might be affected — including grant-funded detox center funding previously discussed — and staff said they will continue outreach to the hospital and attorneys to resolve funding flow issues as projects and bids move forward.
