Goshen County public health reports first Wyoming measles case of 2026 and updates programs

Public Health County Nurse Manager Heather Dittmer informed the Board that the Wyoming Department of Health reported a confirmed measles case in the state and briefed the commissioners on recommended precautions. Dittmer relayed the state recommendation that potentially exposed people self-monitor for measles symptoms for 21 days after exposure and consider avoiding crowded public places or high-risk settings such as daycare centers.
Dittmer also reported program items including office closure from 12–1 p.m. for staff morale, upcoming events (Senior Resource Expo May 22, Safe Kids Day Aug. 29), conferences and that the LT101 assessment fee will increase from $120 to $185.50 effective April 2026. Commissioner Burkart moved to approve the Public Health report; the motion was seconded and passed.
