The commission considered and approved authorization to proceed with a New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA) loan application to fund construction of a new Carson Volunteer Fire District station. A deputy EMS chief appearing for the chief said the loan's full cost will be covered by the NMFA loan plus other public funds, and that ongoing maintenance and replacement would be funded from New Mexico fire-protection funds and the county's fire excise tax if any balance remains.
Commissioners moved to approve the loan acquisition and to adopt resolution number 2025‑9 authorizing submission of the completed application for financial-assistance project approval to the New Mexico Finance Authority. The motion included the condition that the project be authorized by the resolution language on file.
