Taos County honors 911 dispatchers with year-end awards

Chair Romero opened the meeting by recognizing Taos County Central Dispatch for year-end awards honoring staff performance and teamwork. Roberto Zaragoza, introduced as the dispatch director, presented individual recognitions and spoke about the importance of dispatch work to the county’s first-response system.
Zaragoza presented the 'most improved telecommunicator' award to Renee Maestas and the 'Taos County got your back' team award to Jose Montragon, then named Cassidy Wilson as recipient of the Taos County 9-1-1 director’s award. "I would take my team with any against anybody in the state dispatch," Zaragoza said, praising the recipients’ performance, dependability and community focus. Commissioners congratulated the honorees during the open meeting.
The recognition highlighted dispatch responsibilities over holidays and nights and emphasized both console and non-console support roles. Zaragoza said the awards were intended to reinforce teamwork, service and mission focus for the coming year.
