Goshen County adopts 2026 precinct map, election pay scale and DS200 tabulators

County Clerk Mary Feagler presented Resolution 2026-08 and the board on Tuesday adopted the precinct map and polling places for the 2026 election and approved a staff-proposed election pay scale.
Feagler told the Board that election judges will be paid at the standard minimum wage, currently "$7.25/hr," that mileage for judges driving more than five miles one way will be reimbursed at the government rate of "$0.70/mile," alternates who attend training but are not called will receive $25, and early-voting judges will be paid $15 per hour. The Board also approved use of DS200 tabulators for ballot counting and set the county-wide early voting and absentee polling place at the courthouse to be open 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday–Friday (excluding holidays) for four weeks before each election.
Chairman Michael McNamee and Commissioners Justin Burkart and Aaron Walsh voted to adopt the resolution on a motion by Burkart, seconded and passed. The resolution lists district names and polling places including Prairie Center, Jay Em, Torrington-City, Torrington Rural, Lingle, Fort Laramie, Veteran, Yoder, Huntley, Hawk Springs, La Grange and Iowa Center.
