On Dec. 27, 2024 the Selectboard voted to obligate $263,588 in American Rescue Plan Act funds to purchase a dump truck. The motion was made by Christopher Whalen and seconded by Justin Campbell; the minutes record the vote as "all in favor." The minutes also note that the purchase order for the vehicle was signed several months earlier.
Town Clerk Bobbi Brimblecombe told the board that ARPA funds needed to be formally obligated by Dec. 31, 2024 and that a mere transfer to the general fund would not meet federal obligation rules. The motion to obligate funds was recorded at the meeting and is reflected in the board's adopted resolution on ARPA allocations.
