At its Dec. 23 meeting, the Marshfield Selectboard approved a $1,211,410 contract for Cassady Road to contractor Blow & Cote. The town engineer, Tyler Billingsley of East Engineering, reported that five bidders responded and recommended the low bidder; Justin Campbell moved to award the contract and Richard Baker seconded. The motion was recorded as approved and Justin Campbell signed the contract.
Tyler said he had worked with some bidders in the past and recommended awarding based on low bid and familiarity with past performance. The approval was part of a larger procurement session in which the board awarded four road contracts during the meeting.
