Manchester planners push for a concise town vision, aim to attract jobs paying about $40 an hour

David Michelson opened the Town Plan Update workshop and said the commission needs a concise, purpose-driven vision statement to guide revisions of the town plan. "A rubric that has worked with prior organizations is a 'We help (Who)? Do (What)? So they can (Action Statement),'" Michelson said, and he urged priorities including education, healthcare, trades and entrepreneurship.
Michelson also told colleagues that the town needs more jobs paying wages "nearer to 40 dollars an hour," which he said are necessary for people to live and work locally. The commission did not take a formal vote on policy at the July 16 session; it scheduled a follow-up workshop for July 28, 2026, 4:00–6:00 PM to continue drafting the plan.
