"The Selectboard has asked the Planning Commission to review the outdoor dining portion of the sidewalk ordinance," staff said, describing proposed clarifying changes and updates to reflect post-2016 conditions. Commissioners discussed how the ordinance language would be clarified, and Commissioner Leon Ward warned the town could be liable if someone were injured on a ramp that moves pedestrians on or off the sidewalk.
No formal amendments were adopted at the June 29 meeting; staff provided the suggested language for commission review and follow-up. Commissioners also discussed ensuring ADA compliance and pedestrian safety as the proposed ordinance language is refined.
