Manchester Planning Commission to present high-level town plan framework at July 13 public meeting

The Town of Manchester Planning Commission on June 29 reviewed a draft town plan framework created by consultant Michael Allen of Regrowth Planning and agreed to present a high-level version at a public information meeting on July 13 at the library. Allen produced a document outlining Goals, Policy, and Action items and said he intends to provide a more fleshed-out version for public comment before forming the final plan.

Commissioners debated whether to include specific funding mechanisms and cost estimates in the current draft but reached consensus to keep the July 13 presentation at a high level. The commission asked staff and the consultant to include placeholder language identifying potential funding sources beyond property taxes to show those options are being considered; detailed funding research and cost estimates will follow after the public feedback period. Allen also said he aims to make a working document available to the public at least one week before the July 13 meeting to allow residents to comment online or in person.
